Three-dimensional work has a particular presence – it lives and occupies space in our world. Many of these sculptural works reiterate themes of human smallness and fragility, and the peace inherent in accepting the small frame of a given lifespan. Included in some are found items; to find an old piece of discarded history and transform it into an object that speaks currently of sacred beauty and meaning, is alchemy of the highest kind. It is a kind of honouring too of time past and time future.
Thanks to John D Angerson for the photos in the lower half of the gallery.

oiling the bones of the ancestors
A ritual work, inviting the ancestors in to leave behind trauma, suffering, disappointment, injustice. Gold painted articulated spine of a deer, steeped in golden oil, and filled with St John’s Wort blossoms – soothing to pained nerves. Small bubbles rose from the dry bones, until saturated, and healing light filtered through the oiled beauty.
